    Hi all:)

Over 3 years ago I found a car on donedeal, contacted a guy and it happened he brings cars from UK.
Was happy with everything so now, when buying a new one, I contacted him again.
I only met him back then and I know a mechanic he works with.
He said he will bring the car for me but he has no cash to pay it for.
I can transfer money to garage in UK when the car is purchased but I want to be sure that the car will be delivered to me.
How can I secure myself in this situation? Is paying from my own bank account enough to prove that this is my car in case something happens?
I rather be safe than sorry.
    Thank you.

Yeah. Just go over and drive the car back yourself. It would be foolish to do otherwise.

You will also need to declare the car to Revenue so they can determine and collect the VRT due on the car and ensure it's registered for motor tax. This will add to your overall purchase price and it's more time involved for you in purchasing your car. The below link gives you information on this.

    Thank you guys.
Well if I could I would go myself although going to London and driving the car over there it's not on top of my "things to do abroad" list:)
I will get invoice from garage as soon as I pay for the car, hope everything will be fine just wish I know what to do if something goes wrong.

Why can you not go to London? Are you not wanting to drive there??

Alternatively - ask the garage to drive the car to the nearest port and drop it off there. You can also pay a delivery service to bring the car over, but this is very expensive and will probably wipe out any savings made. Of course - you can also ask a trusted friend to bring the car back for you.

Nvd and another crowd from the north can pick up and deliver the car for about 400 but the down side is you dont get to look at the car until you have it.

By the sounds of it, he won't get to look at it until it arrives here anyway.

    She:)
I had no time to go to England anyway.
My question was what do you need to prove that the car is your in case something like that would happen.
Anyway I got my car, everything was perfect so thread can be closed.
    Thank you guys.

Remember if the car is under 6 months old or less than 6,000 kms on the clock you will also have to pay
    VAT as well or VRT.
