    Hi,

I was told the ECU on my 2003 Micra needs replacing, I want to source the part myself online to save money. I notice some ECU units come with keys? Why is this the case?

Also do you have any advice when sourcing a ECU for a car?

ecus come with keys because the immobiliser is coded to the key. you can recode an ecu if needed but you'll need a copy of 'consult' Nissans diagnostic computer. its easier to get the ecu with keys and either taper the immobiliser chip to the reader ring so you dont have to change all the locks etc.
