Silly of me I know not to get a spare set done up before this. My car is sitting in a pub car park me in my drunken state last night have no idea where my keys are. I was in 3 pubs and 2 taxis so my guess is between one of them. Hopefully the pubs as I know the names of them. Don't know the taxis. Anyway, if they don't turn up, what is my next step? How do you get a key for a car parked up that I claim to own? E39 BMW by the way

Some insurance companies have lost key cover.

Normally replacement of stolen keys only ( under theft cover extension)

    Hopefully you get sorted

If you have no joy with insurance, autokey is probably the next cheapest option. They do a callout for €200 in Dublin iirc.

Lost or stolen is more common.
Friend lost keys car recovered to garage loan car for 5 days and dealer replaced keys all under insurance plus no loss of bonus.

Contact insurance company first to see what sort of cover you have

Thanks. Won't trouble the insurance company over it. I'll try one of the auto locksmiths so. Will check the establishments I was in last night first though

Try the lads you were drinking with. They might have taken them off you.

No that did not happen. Not stolen anyway it's sitting in the car park of the first pub. Have checked 2 of the 3 pubs the one I finished up in (and was drunkest in) is not open yet. I'll try again later. Pain in the hole now last thing I need with a hangover

What i meant was as you were drunk they might have taken them off you so you couldnt drive home.

One piece of advice is if you dont find the keys , try get the car out of there asap coz if someone else finds the keys the car could disappear

That's what I thought you meant alright no it didn't happen they wouldn't have even known the car was outside the first pub, they were there when I got there. Yeah i'll get it back to my house alright ASAP

are you in the big smoke? leaving a car unattended in a pub there is looking for trouble, what with the spate of car thefts going on lately.

No, out in the sticks. It's locked up at night time it should be ok. Busy car park too because it's a big food pub so lots of people drive to it. Close to a town too so I'd say a good few use it for parking for other reasons too. Car should be safe.

Nightclub. There were actually 4 other pubs involved in 2 different towns. It was early I posted originally its been coming back to me gradually ever since! Great night still paying for it today. Serves me right for going to a nightclub, thats why the big panic yesterday they were not open during the day for me to contact anyone but eventually got a reply to a facebook message I sent.
