Valentines present for new guy

So I met a guy 6 weeks ago. Met up with him a few times now (both in 30's). He seems lovely, kind, morals etc. and was fine when I told him I didn't want to sleep with him straight away - sorry if tmi.
Last night when we were talking, he suggested going to a hotel on Valentine's Day.
Serious question for guys, what do I buy for him as I only met him very recently? I would be embarrassed if he turns up with flowers or something and I had nothing.

Are you proceeding with the hotel?

6 weeks in, I suspect most wouldn't consider it a deal breaker if one gift are exchanged.

Yes, I told him I will go, so he said he will organise it.
Honestly don't know if I am really into him. As it's only been 6 weeks, I'm going to give it a little bit longer to see. I genuinely don't mean that to sound bad.

    No.

    No.

    Sexy lingerie for his present.

    Just a card, if even.

Bring a nice bottle of wine and get into the bath would trump anything else

    That's a given

    The bath without the card?
I'm not big into Valentine's Day, it's the little things through the year that are important to me, just feel I should bring something else with me but no idea what as it's such early days.

Say you be on the ball with that.

I don't want to go and if he won't take money towards anything not have something in return. I tried to pay for dinner last time and he wouldn't let me pay. I like to pay my own way. By bringing something for him, that's my way of paying back something if that makes sense.

Maybe you should call it off, tell him you cannot work out the logistics. Post pone it after working out a spread sheet with cost etc.

I just want to bring a gift and some ideas from a guys point as to what they would like if given the choice.

Aftershave, won't go to waste if it's a good brand.

Thanks Galwayguy35, probably the safest bet.

There is a band playing soon in Cork that he mentioned wanting to see in a few weeks time. I could get tickets. If it doesn't last then he could take somebody else. Thanks.

Not really a subject for this forum. There's a Gifts forum that might be worth trying.

Rejoice in the awareness of feeling stupid, for that’s how you end up learning new things. If you’re not aware you’re stupid, you probably are.
