    Hi,

Would social welfare fund a PLC course in a college, if you were eligible for BTEA?

I couldn't find a solid answer on it!

    Thanks.

Afaik, if you are eligible for BTEA then any PLC course you do is free. PLC courses are always, or generally, free to SW recipients from my understanding.

I think it only covers Dept. Of Education and Fetac Fees. The other fees are for student services, materials etc.
Is there any grants for those cicumstances?

My partner did a PLC on BTEA a few years ago, you had to be on JSA/JSB with 6 months. He kept his payment during the year and could work part time, he went back to the means tested payment during the summer.

You need to apply to the schemes section of the social welfare office and then apply to the school.
