    Hi

Currently my internet cable is in the living room, I am making an office upstairs and want to move router NAS etc into it.I have the old Cisco 3925 router from UPC

I was looking at buying a large amount of coax and route it into ceiling and then across master bedroom and into office

Would there be any loss in speed by doing this ? its no more than approx 80 feet total

Would I need to buy a more superior cable ?

    Thanks

    DT

There would be a small drop but nothing significant.

Though your ping may rise slightly as well, do you use VoIP services (Skype, Hangouts etc.)?

It would have to rise to 300ms before it starts causing problems but I think you'd be safe enough.

Only VoIP if I need to work from home, prob a day a month

We use Facetime for family stuff.

UPC is F to F connection?

    Cheers

Yeah UPC basically use F type compression connectors you could use a twist on F type if you dont have access to a compression tool. Dont forget to order an F type joiner.
