Running calendar - what website?

Is there a website that shows all road running events such as 10km, 10m or half marathons? Just an example, runireland has a calendar which seems to be the best but the likes of Dungarvan, Mallow or Ballycotton 10 milers are not on this. Im looking for a list of all events, whether you can enter online or not.

munsterrunning.blogspot.com is excellent for Munster races. Not sure where you are located or if that suits you?

There is a filterable fixture list, on the Cork AAI website, of Registered AAI events in Cork, along with AAI Munster and National Championships, and some selected major events abroad.

Use the filter fields to zone in on the distance, type, month, whatever, that you are interested in....avoid having to wade through all the other events to find the one(s) that interest you.

Running in Munster has most in the province.

St. Brendan's Athletics Club have just about everything in Kerry.

Running in Cork only has a lot less races than it did a few years back. Prob too many road races out there or another reason. Looking at what races got AAI permits is another way to check. tbh an Ireland wide solution as part of the permit fee should be something that AI should take on. Races at the end of the day are often peoples entry into the sport and it would be a value add if your race was listed on AI as a result or the permit on a searchable directory. If that was the definitive point to get the info then having a race without a permit wouldn't be a good idea.

The reason I use the two I mentioned are because they show the ones within driving distance for me. The Kerry one in particular shows everything, some national school organising a 5k fun run in Valentia, it's on it, an orienteering meet, it's on it, a commercial event, it's on it. Not sure all of those would have a permit. It would be great to have one resource though, but proximity dictates my choice of events, I don't even know if they have permits.

That one looks better than the runireland list (no sign of battle of Clontarf there): looks like I might have found myself a 10miler for Easter weekend :)

Yes that's a big improvement on what was there before.

However......For Cork, between now and April 30th, there are fifteen (15) races, that have AAI permits, that are not listed on the AAI page .

See Cork AAI Fixtures for the full listing.

Hint 1: Enter "Road" in the box above "Type" and press return - That'll give you all the Cork road races (and a few selected others) with permits.
Hint 2: You can use multiple filter boxes, at the same time, to fine tune your search.

It would also be much more useful to give the web site of the races where available, rather than a contact and email/phone number

Its a good start though if they can keep the content correct.

There is no difference between the calendars on the Running in Cork site and the Running in Munster site. One is a mirror of the other.

The is no calendar covering the country because it is simply too much work.

The most comprehensive one in Leinster is the one that Lindie Naughton has.

For Munster, it's the one on Running in Cork... http://corkrunning.blogspot.ie/p/calendar.html
