A man thats not afraid to sink his teeth into the issue at hand. This is like something out of Father Ted.

Well I think that settles the matter, no need for a referendum now.

That could be part of the problem.

Amazing that he has such strong feelings about something that won't have any effect on him.

And that was the Party Political Broadcast from the Toothless Culchies Against Gay Marriage Party.

    So......

No marriage for anyone? Suppose that might work.

If I was related to that man I would currently be wishing he hadn't lived so long to cause such embarrassment to my family.

Don't forget to get out and vote people; clowns like that will be out in force.
There's probably more old bigots out there than we think.

Plenty of bigots like him about and who you can be sure will go out and vote. Remember to vote people to ensure that homophobic bigots like him don't win.

Against men and women getting married, is he? Where's the family values in that stance? Marriage for nobody basically?

When we said we wanted equality, it wasn't quite what we meant, but I guess it gets the job done...

Marriage for nobody is the only argument against letting gay people marrying.

If this was a Donegal man believe me he does not speak for the county. Despite what most may think a large percentage of the electorate are in favour of more freedom in various avenues of Irish life including equality in marriage.

    Donegal says 'Yes'?

I honestly think we need more like him, They should do interviews every day with people like him from different towns and cities across the land and give them a prime spot on the 6 one news with a repeat at 9 for those who missed it. The more gob****es like him that get coverage the more people will see how ridiculous a no vote would be.

I await a sneering, weaselly post from one of the far-right Christians here about "liberal bullying".

Like how rte, which broadcasts the Catholic call to prayer twice a day, is anti Catholic.

You seem to be forgetting that if there was a referendum to give everyone free icecream on the hottest day of the year, Donegal would still vote no.

A hot drink is better on a warm day than a cold ice cream

Farmers are against gay sex when it comes to breeding their animals, simply doesn't work.

Seriously though, we have to be prepared for a fight, there are small groups against the amendment starting up all over the country.

Apparently, the strategy is to have several counties come together in small groups. I just had a leaflet through my door from another one: Countrywomen Of Cork, Kilkenny, Sligo
