According to the latest WHO global report Ireland is one of the countries with the highest prevalence of obesity. This report also includes the US and Australia in this bracket.

I'm the opposite. Three years of sitting on my ass has increased my waist line by 6 inches. I'm now between 32 and 34 inches. I want to lose a couple of them so i can fit into suits again. :)

That's three jocular posts now. Cam we just cut to the fat bashing? I'm busy here.

Our economy is structured around the service sector, yet our diets consist of foods that would sustain labourers and farmers. Plent of dairy, breads, starches and meats. Factor in binge drinking and our love of a takeaway at the weekend, relatively harsh weather for half the year so outdoor activities are a chore for a lot of people and it's not so surprising.

In fairness, since returning from Canada 4 months ago, I've noticed a high proportions of fat c*nts in Ireland.

Stop having a pop at obese people, they have enough on their plate as it is.

True! I went over not eating much veg and fruit and people look at you like you've 2 heads when you ask for a subway with no salad or a chinese with no veg so I just started eating it haha. Thank you for vancouver for shaming me into a healthier diet

It's sad really, we're killing ourselves slowly. I think the point that Operation Transformation is trying to get across is fantastic. As we get older, we might put on a pound every year and think, ahh sure it's only a pound. They soon add up and it's gone from pounds to stones. Even myself, 4 years ago, I was one stone lighter. I was underweight but if I kept that weight gain up, I'd be obese in no time.
