    Hi
Has anyone on here ever done a Video Interview before.

I completed the aptitude test for the Graduate Programme last week.

I got an email from Enterprise Ireland today and it gave me a link to a video Interview which I can do at home whenever I want over the next few days.

I was just wondering what type of questsions they ask and what kind of info I need to know for the interview.

Also do I need to wear a suit?

Any help will be gratefully appreciated

    C

Always advisable to wear a suit.

I've been asked to submit a video interview as well. No idea what to expect from it but I'd imagine if you took your lead from the job spec and throw in a couple of generic "what's your experience to date", "why do you want this job" etc. then you'll have plenty of info to base your preparation on.

It says (iirc) that the interview itself only lasts about 20 minutes so it's unlikely to be be anything too taxing.

As with everyone else, I have to do the video interview for this. I've done one video interview before, for a Vodafone job. If it's anything similar, then it's an automated process where you're given a range of questions one at a time; you were given about 15 to 20 seconds (I think) once each question was displayed to read it, and collect your thoughts before your answer automatically started to record.

The questions themselves were mainly standard interview questions (such as what attracted you to the job, why you think you're a good match for it, what you hope to get out of it, etc.), with some job specific ones, so it'd be no harm to practice your answers to these types of questions, and to read through the job material again to have it fresh in your mind. There are a couple of questions on the form itself that they might touch on again, so it might be no harm reading through it as well. As for dress, it couldn't hurt to wear at least a shirt and tie.

    Hi Guys,

I have also just received an email to complete a video interview for the graduate programme.
I have no idea what to expect but they have a few questions on the email that they advised to prepare for the interview.

Does anyone know what stage is next? Is there an assessment centre? They seem to have done this before for different graduate programmes in the past however they didn't seem to have a video interview so maybe it is different.
(Not pressuming I get through or anything but just if I did, the whole process is moving quick enough)

Not too sure about the next step in the process but you're quite right about it moving very quickly. I might have shot myself in the foot with the original application. I have not got a full driving license yet but I ticked the box to say I did. At the minute I have a provisional license and I had hoped to have gotten my full license by the time the process was completed (if I had gotten that far) but it's moving much more quickly than I had expected. Not really sure what to do about it, I wonder is having the full license from day one a deal breaker?

I wouldn't imagine it would be a massive deal to be honest. It isn't a sales rep job or one based on the road. I would just see how the next steps go and if it comes up but have an explanation ready if it does. It isn't a road based job so I don't see it as a deal breaker.

I am a bit worried as I have a job at the moment and am travelling with it the week after next for two days that week and have committed and can't get out of it. I am hoping that there isn't anything on that week but the way it is moving I dunno!!!

I have never been to an assessment centre so I don't know how flexible they will be with when you can come as I have a feeling from research on Google that this is what the next step could be. I really do not want to miss it but I really can't move things around.

    Stress of it all.

Did anyone hear back from their interview ?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 358 ✭✭AtticusFinch86

I haven't heard back yet. I'd say it'll be a few days yet before we hear anything. How did everyone get on with the interview? I struggled a little with it, particularly the first question.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 268 ✭✭Cyclonius

Yeah, the first question threw me a bit. Hopefully I did better in the next two.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 16 Liss1992

I havent heard a word back. I stuttered and stammered on the first question, I was like a dear in the headlights and it threw me for the other two which were better but by no means did I do well in it. I felt like I screwed it up but it was my first time doing anything like that. I would have preferred a telephone screening.

I say we won't hear anything for a few working days.

Yeah I struggled with the first one too.
Cant remember sorry. All i can remember was the first was, what do you think the biggest challenge would be in the role..

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 358 ✭✭AtticusFinch86

Yeah first one was about the challenges you expected to face in the role. Can't remember what the 2nd and third one were but it's something along the lines of why do you want to work with Enterprise Ireland (or maybe it's what excites you about the work they do) and I think the other one focused on what traits you would bring to the role.

Glad I wasn't the only one caught off guard by it. It's a strange one because it's hard to give an on the spot prediction of what you expect to be the biggest challenges when the job description isn't all the descriptive.

Anyone have an idea of salary ?

Not sure where I read it but I think it is in the region of 27k

Yes, I think it is around 27K

    Anyone get any word back?

Yet to hear anything back yet. I'm assuming that if I hear nothing by mid-late next week then it's a no go for me. Has anyone heard anything yet?

I wonder what the level and volume of competition is like. I'm based in Donegal (Letterkenny) and put down Letterkenny as a preference so I'm hoping that a lack of demand for a place there will increase my chances. Wishful thinking no doubt.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 16 Liss1992

I haven't heard anything yet. I would imagine it would take a few days to go through all the videos as it is not as easy to eliminate people as it is with an aptitude test.
I would imagine the volume of competition is high. The graduate programmes always have high competition. That could be an advantage to you, I am based around the Dublin area so I imagine that is where the competition could be the highest.

Hopefully they let us know if we do or dont get through either way.

Yes it is stated in an email that for the successful candidates will be an assessment centre.

    LATER STAGES of the process:

Please note that applicants who are successful at the online testing and video interview stages will be invited and expected to attend an assessment centre on one day (to be confirmed closer to the time) in late February.

As far as i remember the questions were as following:
    1. If IE will employ you what do you think will be the most challenging for you?
    2. What do you know about IE and what skills you can bring to the role?
    3. Why do you want to work for LEO?

Apologies, I didn't explain clearly. I got an email advising on the outcome of the online interview that was taken. They advised that someone will call in the next few days to verify some information.

Did the email say that you were "successful" in the interview and were moving onto the next stage?

The email stated "Thank you very much for completing your video interview. We are pleased to inform you that you have been successful in passing the benchmark for this stage of the process. Before we can progress you to the next stage of the process however, we would like to have a quick phone call to verify some details on your Application Form.

This phone call will take approximately 5 minutes. It is not an interview, and as such does not require any preparation.

We will call you between the hours of 9am and 6pm on one of the following days: Tuesday the 10th, Wednesday the 11th, Thursday the 12th of February. If any time during these periods does not suit you to have a brief phone call, or if there is a specific time that would suit you, please reply to this address with those details as soon as possible."

Don’t lose hope. In my experience during this process, I found that sometimes I was left wondering what was happening, as other individuals had received information before me? I think it could potentially be a regional thing due to the nature of the roles being located nationwide?

I got the email today at about 12pm or so, the email said to expect a call over the next 2-3 days. It seems the phone call is only to verify some information on the application. Nothing too taxing. I hope.

I haven't got an email today, and there might be few reasons for that:

    1. What Steelsiren says about regional stuff...and we might get an email tomorrow or so...
    2. That they want to contact some applicants to whom they have particular questions, before proceeding further...regarding application, change of work area (willing to relocate, etc.)
    3. Or we were unsuccessful.

Anyway good luck in the recruitment process to all of you guys!!!

Hey! I did the video interview last week but still haven't got any email. I got in touch with the recruitment team (before I saw this post) and they replied saying that there has been a high volume of candidates and they are taking the time to go through every one to ensure a fair process. They said this process will be finished by Friday and that I should hear from them then. Not sure if that's good or bad...

I got an email yesterday, asking me to redo my video interview. They had a problem with the sound. So if they are still going over video interviews, i doubt we will hear from them until early next week.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 358 ✭✭AtticusFinch86

I got a phone call on Wednesday about it. They were ringing to clarify some of the information in my application e.g. would I still be willing to work in the regions I had listed in my application, what would be my preference, would I be available for an assessment center at the end of February if I made it through to the next round.

She said that if I were to be selected to attend the assessment center, I'd have an email in the next few days. I've heard nothing since.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 358 ✭✭AtticusFinch86

Got an email last night inviting me down to their assessment centre on the 25th of 25th of Feb. Apparently it's an all day event so it sounds quite intensive. I have absolutely no idea what they do (or more importantly what we have to do) that will make it last the whole day. I thought it was a quick (verbal and numerical) assessment, but now I'm thinking it's much more wide ranging than that. Possibly presentations? Role play? Variety of tests etc? I have no idea what to expect and that in itself is frightening.

Well done! I think I read somewhere that it will involve assessments, group work, a presentation and an interview. For previous EI programmes they had to do a presentation immediately before the interview (look up the threads on here for more info!).

No email for me...oh well :(

No email for me. I emailed about a week and a half ago and they said they were still reviewing and would be in touch early last week. I still have nothing but I would like to email again just to see if I could have an answer regarding the outcome. I know it is probably no but I would just like to know.

    Hi Guys,

I just received an email to inform me that I have been short listed for an assessment centre in March. I am just wondering did anyone else get this email? It is the second round of assessment centre. I am not sure about it because it seems they have the one in Feb first and then review requirements for one in March.

Anyone that has got through to the assesment centre having any thoughts on how to prepare for the presentation.

typical enterprise ireland situation, im thinking that it may be trying to big up a fictional company that we have some information on.

    Any other thoughts welcome,

So, how did people get on with the assessment centres?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 16 Liss1992

    Hi Guys,

I was just wondering would anyone have any feedback on the assessment centre as I have been short listed for the second one this month. Its not confirmed when it is so I don't even know yet but if I was to go it would be great to have someones opinion on it as I have never attended anything like this before.

    Thanks

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 8 40115954

    HI.

it's standard enough..everything is unseen for group and presentation and written assessment..just read up the stuff on wikijobs around examples.

strange that their doing a second set of assesment centres.they plan on starting the graduates end of March.they must have thought the first batch weren't up to scratch...with very little info given around pay scale and also basically told that we will be let go after 2 years if we make it on the grad programme I wouldnt get overly excited about it
