What's your supplement routine?

    Hi all,

Looking to lose fat and am on a calorie deficit + working out 4 times a week (weights and cardio). Trying not to lose muscle unneccessarily. My BMI is 24.3, I am not overweight but am about 2 stone over what I would like, it's usually about 20.

Curious as to what supplements everyone takes on top of their diet and fitness routine!

    I currently use
    • MyProtein Impact Whey Protein, I have maybe 3-4 shakes a day to get about 90g protein on top of my diet. In addition the one I have is chocolate flavoured and stops me reaching for actual chocolate so win win.
    • MyProtein BCAA 2:1:1 ratio powder, I only got this the other day, drink it first thing in the morning, should I drink it during workouts also yeah? It's in powder form so have to carry it around (the tablets I got were enormous, I couldnt swallow them- is chewing them ok?).

Looking into creatine too, can anyone recommend a good one?

Is it better to buy everything separately or is it better to buy proteins that already have BCAA and creatine in them?

Most good protein powders will have BCAAs. They're really suited to have first thing if you're going to workout fasted but even then I would wonder how much benefit they have. I certainly didn't get any noticeable benefit when I used them.

I just use whey on occasion.

Most people would benefit from taking in more fibre

I view any supplement outside of Whey protein and possibly Creatine as a luxury obtained when some spare cash is lying around.

Hey Magenta, I can answer most of your questions as I have extensive experience in health and fitness. First of all have you calculated your calories intake correctly? You mentioned you are in the calories deficit.
