anyone know how much a new logbook for a car costs?
do the motor tax office print it there and then for you?
lost my logbook somewhere and need one for my nct at 1:55pm today but I'm in work and my father is bringing it to Greenhills test centre for me.

If the motor tax office print it there and then, would they give it to my father once I've it all filled out for them? Would I need to give him a Revenue Tax Certificate for income taxes for 2015 to prove it's me who owns the car & right address too?

Costs €12 and AFAIK it won't be printed by the Motor Tax office, it will be posted to you from Shannon. You have to sign the form in person and be witnessed doing so by a Garda. Revenue stuff is of no relevance.

You might not need the logbook for the NCT, you only need it if they ask to see it and many centres don't ask. Even if you are asked they will still perform the test but can withhold the certificate until you produce the docs at a later date.

Don't fret. Just turn up and do the test as normal.

thanks slimjimmc, i don't mind going back after I get the logbook back. If it fails they'll give the fail sheet over so if i need repairs done I can do them but won't get the certificate if it passes thats if they ask for it.

Make sure you do have your driving license though, they will ask for it.
