The one I have is transparent and the walls are very thick. It has never once kinked on me and I've had it since 2009!

I have at least three different lengths of hose on the reel since 1996 (no joke). None of them were expensive (as I clearly remember having feck all money back then). Still going strong, though in fairness only the first 30 feet ever gets rolled out.
