Will this inner tube fit my bike? Advice would be much appreciated!

Hi, I have a Dawes heritage ladies bike with 26" wheels and Preston valves. I recently bought some of the 700x23x32c inner tubes on sale in Tesco but have been told these will be too thin to fit my bike. Does anyone know if this is correct? Thanks for taking the time to read!

26" is the diameter of your wheels. You haven't said how fat your tyres are.

The tubes you've got are 700 diameter so are the wrong size.

You need to look at the side of your tyre and see what width they are - it'll say 26x something. Then you should look for the same when you get tubes.

Presta is a type of valve - it doesn't relate to the sizes. That's a preference for when you go to pump them up. Schrader (car valves) is the other standard. Some pumps handle both, some dont. You should stick to one and not mix, purely for convenience.

26" x 1⅜" is the likely size of your Dawes tyres, and this size in ETRTO (tyre manufacturers size system, much easier to compare various standards - more here) is 590-32. Look for this size on a tube box (the "32" bit can be +/- about 7mm either way and be ok) and you'll be fine.

The Tesco tubes will be 622-xx and won't fit, as sbs2010 said
