I think 3 years of BTAP are now up. What happens now?

Do we wait and see what dept and or Teagasc decide to do, or have any groups had a meeting yet this year? Are we on our own? Does anybody know for definite what is happening? Is there funding in place yet for 2015?

We're having BTAP meeting next week. Teagasc advisor is confident there will be funding for it.

Was talking to my consultant yesterday, he's expecting an announcement about this in mid February when GLAS is finalised. Sounds like there will be beef discussion groups this year anyway.

Was talking to politicians during the week, they're expecting money to be paid out in October on GLAS

BTAP groups are being replaced by Knowledge Transfer Groups in the new RDP.

Knowledge Transfer Groups have started meeting already, even though T & Cs aren't finalised from Europe.

However groups were formed before BTAP and any payment ever emerged.

New groups will run from June to June and payment about 750 euro.

Is it too late to join a group now? Does the planner have to be paid out of the €750?

Not too late to join a group. Contact your local Teagasc office of local adviser.

€750 is to the farmer. Facilitator gets paid directly from RDP.
