QA and suckling farming

My quality assurance cert is due to expire soon.

As a suckler farmer the only cattle I ever send to the factory are cull cows which are not eligible for the QA bonus.

I am also working off farm so the 'hassle' of taking a valuable day off for an inspection that in no way benefits me is off putting.

Having been recently informed my cert is expiring I am considering pulling out of the QA scheme.

My only concerns are my local mart where I sell my weanlings have recently started displaying if the farmer is QA or not.

All things being equal would a QA weanling make more than a non QA weanling ?

If I am not QA will the factories still accept my cull cows or will I have to sell my cull in the marts ?

    Thanks.

    Shouldn't make a differnce .
For example if I buy your non qa animal and keep it for 70 days minimum and sell it to the factory it will be qa.(it also needs less than I think 4 movements but that won't affect you

Thanks larry, this is great to know.

Have a bit of homework to do for my inspection, but if I fail I will not be renewing it.

Dairy man near us, not QA. Had been sending culls to same factory for years, has now been told cows won't be taken unless QA.
