Hi, my Fiat Punto failed the NCT for balancing and a loose wiper linkage. Balancing is done, so onto the wiper linkage. I have seen a wiper linkage repair clip available for a fiver on Ebay, Amazon, etc. and I would like to know if anyone has passed the NCT with this as a solution. Please.

The clip is a waste of money, it only stops the arm from falling off and does not cure the problem, I cannibalized an old linkage and made one good one from two. alternatively you can buy a new linkage. Put the £5 towards the cost of a new linkage, I think the factor here can get them.

Common fault with Punto's. Just spend the few quid on getting spare parts. Nothing worse than a car with no wipers when its lashing rain and they always tend to go when you need them!

My first car was a Fiat Punto. On winter morning I was overtaking a lorry on the M7 in the lashing rain when the wiper linkage failed.

Brown trousers time until I got the car into the hard shoulder. I couldn't see a thing. Scared the crap out of me!!
