    Hi,

I'm looking into getting an elderly smoker an E cigarette and I wonder which one would be low maintenance, easy to use and have a Silk Cut blue flavor. I'm in Galway so I can buy online or in town. Thanks.

Vision spinner 2 battery, mini protank, couple of coils and a USB charger off esmoke Ireland would be the best bet I'd say. Comes to around 44 and get 10% off using boards as a voucher code. Best battery and Vape tank by a mile. Could order
Another vision 2 batteries and another mini protank as well

I'm an OAP and use a Nautilus/Nemesis. The Nautilus is very easy to fill, particularly if eyesight isn't good or hands aren't steady.

It's a tricky one, everybody's different as to what they'll take to. That's why walk in shops are so good for when you first start, although I realise that may not be practical here. Unfortunately though a lot of people won't take to it because they tried a set-up that just didn't suit them.

A lot of the standard clearomizers (where the juice goes) will be similar enough, they'll all need to be unscrewed by hand and refilled with juice, with the coil heads needing replacing every week/2 weeks depending on use.

Then you have different battery types - cigarette shaped (but bigger and fatter) with more limited battery life and power, then 'torch-shaped (really just like a torch) with much bigger battery life and power control, and then box shape - almost like an MP3 player and the most advanced usually.

Where to start is tricky - spend as little as you can to see if it works or commit and buy something decent.

The vision kit posted above is very good and should only have a small learning curve. If he's been smoking for 60 years don't be afraid to get something powerful like that or stronger and some high-strength liquid. But if he's down to a few silk cut blue a day, you could probably try a more basic kit based on what he'd be happy holding/carrying around. An 'ego-style' kit is the default entry point for most people and usually provides enough for most to see if they'll stick with it, in my case anyway.

If you can get to a shop, id recommend it, they usually, at least proper vaping shops, are very helpful and genuinely want it to work and might suggest what could work best for him. If they're not explaining them convincingly, give them a swerve id say and double check here again.

    Good luck with it.

Well for what it's worth I would suggest getting an Eleaf istick battery (approx 35 euro)., I have had loads of different batteries and IMO this is the best and for someone elderly starting out its easy to operate and battery life is brilliant once you help them with the Up n down variations. (Easy to press the Up n Down buttons). I bought the starter kit which included natulius mini clearomiser (where you put the juice)...I did not like this one but some people love it. Personally I found it drained the juice and if tightened too much impossible to open....my fault of course broke it after one wk...am using my T3s clearomiser with it and find it brilliant. Am not an OAP but someone else might suggest a better clearomiser for you that would be easier to fill. The T3s may be a bit too complicated......

Agree with you as regards the istick, I also found the nautilus mini difficult to open, pain in the h0le, I mainly use the full size nautilus, the stainless steel clearo though rather than the glass or pyrex type, much easier to open, only use the mini when cleaning the other, think the mini is too small for a medium to heavy user, to much re-filling

if you wrap a little insulating tape around the grip of the Nautilus mini it opens very easily, but still a bit of a faf for an elderly person.

Hi Naughtysmurf....just one question with regard to above...does this thing gurgle...am not too experienced in this field but read somewhere the BVC coils are better.....thanks

Yep, BVC coils all the way, I get gurgling very rarely when it occur it's because the coil has become slightly loose from opening to refill. I just take out the coil, wipe the terminal & put it back in.The nautilus can seem quite large to a newcomer to vaping, if they can get over that, I'd say it will be fine. Very happy with mine anyway

I think the istick and the bigger Nautilus would be ideal. Obviously the mini Nautilus looks better etc but it can be difficult to open and does require a lot more refilling due to its capacity. The normal nautilus would make a lot more sense given what the op is looking for. Just make sure to get the BVC coils.
