and only just now noticed, that it's the 2014 schedule...

so yeah, my bad, sorry about that

Sounds good. Hopefully Bray gets its finger out and does something decent... compared to Newcastle (remember only 2 hours from Dublin) the lineup is usually pretty crap.

We've had that discussion ad nauseum over the last couple of years.
    This is a happy thread.

That article is from 2013, perhaps they have brought the decision forward as I read that they are getting F18s in 2016, why would it be coming to light today if it was announced in 2013. The Dutch have also cancelled this years F16 display which will be a big loss to Airshows it was a cracking display

It must be 2016 . Why would they go and release their 2015 schedule if they didn't plan on flying in 2015. Hope so any way

That Facebook post from UK aviation seems to suggest they have been disbanded. That wold suggest they are not flying anymore.

It's a Facebook post, I'd prefer to stick with something official like their official webpage and its 2015 schedule. They would hardly have agreed and released a schedule to have it chopped a week later. A schedule wouldn't have been published till they knew 100% they would be flying in 2015.

Anything I found suggests that they will be flying and IT appears they will have F5s till c2018 in some postings as F18s haven't been agreed.

This seems similar to 1997 when the Silver Swallows flew several overseas displays for the IAC 75th anniversary. The Fougas were reaching the end of their serviceable life, this was known, however the 97 season was fully committed to with uncertainity around subsequent years. Alas it was the last we seen of them publicly.

They have recently had a couple of their aircraft grounded due to cracks appearing in the wings and might be withdrawn from service, it seems the admin of the Facebook page got the information mixed up and assumed it was the whole team that was grounded and withdrawn from service...

If its on Facebook that they are disbanding then it must be true...NOT.now a serious question.i have seen/read on some websites that this year's event is a 2 day show (18th and 19th) and others only have it as a 1 day (19th).does anyone KNOW for certain. Thanks

It appears that bray council has realised that the airshow is the highlight of the summer fest and it's time to really up the ante.will be interesting to see if any other forgien military aircraft will be taking part

I think that the IAA are now on board is the big factor as a sponsor. But RIAT is also this weekend could curtail more international participation

The IAA were on board last year and it did not make any big difference to the acts, just because they are there its not going to influence display teams to come to Bray.

As a sponsor they must have put more money in to the fund to get the likes of Miss demeanour and the Norweigan Vampires to display. Up till then the only jet that that had displayed is the Strikemaster.

The organisers have to wait for any acts they have booked or invited to confirm their schedule for 2015, Most don't release this until later in the year so it's just a case of wait and see what is added over the next few month's.
If you look at any airshow's website this time of year you will see they are all fairly bare...

Indeed, even RIAT's. Though they have just announced their first static booking: a BA Airbus A318. Uh-huh.

What bemuses me about RIAT is when they announce things like:

Though the Indonesian Air Force is unable to send aircraft to RIAT 2015, it will be represented by its Chief of Staff.

as if we're meant to be excited!

While this is of no interest to ourselves (unless we have some air force uniforms fetishists amongst us!) the presence of an Air Force CoS does allow RIAT to reinforce their rep as "the biggest airshow in the world". Keep in mind that many companies present will appreciate the chance to have a quiet chat with this gentleman and his close advisors.

Swiss international released this video yesterday....A320 in low level formation with Patrouille Suisse F-5's. I live the moment at 2,16 when the F-5 shadow lies on the A320 fuselage.

Oh dear. I was hoping the Vulcan would make it to Bray this year, its last year flying, but that puts the lid on that idea. Looks like I'll never see it in the air.....

If you can at all, try and make the trip to Newcastle. The Vulcan is more likely to appear there as it did last year and two years previous.

Strike master and o briens flying circus for bray

For anyone wanting to see the Vulcan, keep an eye on vulcantothesky(.)org/appearances.html

Nothing noted for 8th/9th Aug., Newcastle show, yet

Unfortunately, it is at RIAT the weekend of Bray, so unlikely to put in an appearance

Vulcan wasn't confirmed until 29th of April in 2014 (by VTTS but announced a few days before by Down Council) for Newcastle and 23rd April in 2013.

Miss D won't be flying this year unless an owner is found.
Miss Demeanour: Hi Jenny, sadly Miss D won't be displaying this season unless I can find a new owner for her. I've had 16 tremendous years owning and displaying her but it's time for her to move on to a new owner.

    http://wicklowvoice.ie/bray-summerfest-cancelled/

Seems to be a bit of politics going on over the whole festival between the organisers and councillors.
I think the air display is safe though. Either I'm just very tired or that article doesn't give any real answers...
