Hi all, i ordered some computer parts from Aticas UK on amazon uk, this was my first time using amazon, little did i know that Aticas UK was actually based in Hong Kong, i paid for my goods on the 5th of Jan and delivery was expected between 10th of Jan to 16th of this month, i still havent recieved my goods, so i filed a complaint on Amazon, now they have just offered me a full refund in credit to the store "Good news! This claim is eligible for an immediate refund with an Amazon.co.uk Gift card" , but the thing is i want my computer parts, i even got a tracking number RB911074896HK. but they said (Aticas UK) it was for Ireland post, so i checked anpost but that number didn't track, then they said it was "roymail" so i guessed they ment royalmail so i have checked it there and i get this back "

    Item: RB911074896HK

    from Hong Kong

Status: Royal Mail Signed For™ items are only scanned when the item has been delivered. Depending on whether the item was sent 1st or 2nd class, this may be a few days after posting. Please try again later.

    Please come back later

Information on your Royal Mail Signed For™ item is not yet available.

Sounds very dodgy the way they have delt with me, do you's think i should take the refund or just wait another few days to see if i actually get my goods, but i think i have to accept the refund soon

    Thanks for any help

    Jay

I would take the refund, you will likely get the goods as well

According to the tracking number you posted, it left Hong Kong on January 8th.

It won't appear on the An Post tracking until it arrives in Ireland, which in my experience should be around now given that it left HK a week and a half ago.

The goods are clearly in the postal system somewhere but you do not know if you will get the item. What if it was for a present and needed for today and you had to buy a replacement? This may well teach Atica UK a lesson to stop misrepresenting themselves

Was there a timescale to accept a refund from Amazon?

The consignment was with An Post this morning at their sort centre, you'll probably get it tomorrow.

I just accepted the offer after, i am lead to believe that its because they didn't deliver on time as to why i got it, but i did get this back

You can withdraw the claim if your problem is resolved outside the A-to-Z Guarantee programme (for example, if the product or a replacement, arrives).

Withdrawing a resolved claim will result in your payment instrument being recharged. We are unable to reverse the credit once it is applied to your account.

Please do not withdraw your claim until you have received a product or a reimbursement.

You will not be able to reopen a claim if it is withdrawn before a resolution has been reached.

My goods are on the way to Wexford now so not sure what to do

You were refunded under the first condition which is valid and this is what the third party seller signed up to. The seller needs to re-evaluate their selling model if they are misrepresenting themselves as a UK seller and accept that some of their sales will fall foul of that condition when sending things from Hong Kong

When you get the parcel in the morning/tomorrow you should really withdraw the claim. You can also make a complaint to Amazon or leave feedback about the seller sending from Hong Kong when they claim to be UK based.

Just had a look and that store on amazon is Aticas HK not UK which would indicate they are based and shipping from Hong Kong

It says Aticas HK, and it clearly says they ship from Hong Kong.

I'm guessing the just changed their name after some 'trouble' with buyers. Maybe your complaint has worked effectively.

If you are buying Chinese goods check out Aliexpress and DHGATE.

There after changing it from UK to HK, i was lead to believe that my goods were coming from the UK because of this, i didn't reliese untill i got the tracking number that they were shipped from HK, so really i think i am intitled to some sort of compensation for been left to wait 2 and a half weeks, 1 of the items is a firewire card for my soundcard, i havent been able to make any music since. They shouldn't have mislead me in the 1st place so i think ill just accept the refund, spend it on something nice for my studio and never shop on amazon again. Amazon offered, they broke the rules, i took the refund, anyway aint it nice to hear the customer won here haha, usually most people be on complaining about been ripped off and not getting a thing, i do suspose that is one good thing about amazon.

Never shop on Amazon again? Thats a bit extreme, you wont beat Amazon for a lot of goods. Also when buying from a 3rd part seller on Amazon you should always read their feedback, not doing so is what gets a lot of people into such situations. Their feedback score is just 79% and they quite clearly have complaints from other people about not being bases in the UK.
