Hi, I am looking for a change and am going to apply for the Canada 2 year work holiday visa. I was just looking for some general advice.

I am going on my own at the moment and am a part qualified accountant, Female and 29 years old. Could anybody tell me if there is a good platform to use to look for jobs? I was looking it either Toronto or Vancouver? Is it best to apply through an agency or direct to a company by sending CV?

I also wondering from anyone that has gone alone before if it is easy to make friends- I am pretty sporty so would hope to join GAA club or something like that?

All comments or suggestions welcome :)

    Thank you!! :-) :-)

Hi - thanks for getting back to me so quick! ... really - I couldn't really make out what the pay rate was like in comparison to Ireland in relation to living expense etc.

Are you also in the accountancy field? Are you long there - would you recommend it?

I understand, thanks a million for that advice. Yeah I have an accounting degree also, I have a lot of professional exams done so I was hoping that would be an added feature for my CV, but from what your saying that is not the case. I would be heading on my own so wouldn't like it to be a case of not being able to enjoy or do stuff like you said!
I am in just in investigations mode at the moment - but i understand what you are saying I am on €20 an hour here so that would be a significant change in income for sure.

Oh I totally understand what your saying i appreciate your honesty - I wont have the construction boyfriend net though I'm afraid haha! :-)

I was thinking of heading of in may or June - I have a family wedding and busy session here in my firm so was thinking of going after that. I have attempted my final accountancy exams twice but with no avail so thought a change might do the head good! :-)

In your opinion - it would be difficult for me to rent a place on my own on a accounts assistant role so?

    Police cert!!!

Irish Girl Here hoping to go to Canada in May 2016. I studied in Spain from sept 2010 to june 2011. It is absolutely necessary to get a police cert? If yes, then I have downloaded the 790 form to apply by post. My question is about the certification of the documents. Do I need a Notary Public/Apostille (I only learnt these existed today) to verify the authenticity of the document? Or is a signature from a police man ok? Please Help!! Every second matters.... :(
