Was wondering though if there's anything new out there that I could use read through those forums and they are a bit old I'm looking for a way to get wifi from the house which is only 60 metres away to the shed so I can use an ip camera and monitor it from work which is 40 miles away.? Or is that even possible?

I imagine it's very possible to get some sort of booster for the wifi signal that you could use to pick up the signal from the camera but that's as far as my knowledge goes.
You could try one of the Tech forums, maybe computers and technology or consumer electronics. They might be better able to guide you on wifi?

    Hi,

I may be able to advise you on the above if you have not got it sorted anymore.
I set up a system on my own farm. i live 5km away from the farm. I set up a system that allows me to view the whole shed using a PTZ camera.
Let me know if you need any further info

I saw a camera in the co-op today was €540 now €425. It has a sender and receiver to view on your tv and also has a handheld monitor if you want to view it on your phone you need to purchase an onlink box for another €180. Crazy money

I bought a wifi camera off amazon for €83 and I can use 3 broadband in the shed and I have another broadband in the house. I'll be able to view the camera with the phone.

Hi there. without hijacking the thread. What would be the maximum distance you could live form the yard whilst using the cameras, eg if you lived a couple of miles away from the yard, could you stil use the cameras for calving etc.

You would need a broadband connection near the shed as well as on your house.
