Question popped up yesterday in pub about insurance. 25 year old on third provisional and wants to get a 1.9 diesel.
I think it's ok to get insured but insurance will be high on the vehicle.
Do insurance companies work like that?

    Work like what exactly?

Yes, the policy holders age, whether or not he holds a leaner permit or a full license, as well as the size of the car all matter, when getting car insurance. Other things matter too though, such as the age & value of the car, as well as where it will be parked up at night

Ring around and get quotes, wouldn't think it would be too bad all considered. This all depends on the car though, as there is more to it than just the engine. A skoda superb with the same engine would most likely be cheaper to insure when compared to a Golf with the same motor.

The driver's sex no longer comes into it anymore. New EU legislation banned it. It's all down to ncp, size of car, location etc....

    Have u tried FBD?

FBD came back with nearly a 2,000 euro quote.
