I have a skin condition around my elbows and I am still waiting for the dermatologist appointment to come through. Eumovate doesn't seem to be supplied anywhere at the moment

What good effective creams could I try? I know I need to speak to the GP but the skin is so bad and itchy. :(:(

Eucerin and Aveeno are very good, non-scented moisturisers, recommended to me by dermatologist for excema patches. Or E45 cream - which I've never tried so can't recommend or otherwise.

I'm a huge fan of Aveeno.

Thank you, I will look into it, think I have a form of dermatitis.. I just wish I could get eumovate ... typical it flares up when I can't get the stuff.

As far as I know eumovate is just another unscented moisturiser - I'm open to correction on that but if it was anything more I suspect it'd be on prescription.

Certainly the dermatologist recommended Eumovate/Eucerin/E45 to me as interchangeable - now that was years ago, admittedly, but I'm assuming nothing has changed with them.

Eumovate is a steroid cream. It is only available on prescription.

You are VERY wrong. Not only is Eumovate NOT an "unscented moisturiser", it is actually a VERY POTENT steroid.

Please keep your advice to yourself, particularly since you quite obviously do not have a clue what you are talking about.

Ok, apologies, we've been talking at cross purposes then!

However the ones I've mentioned can't hurt, and may provide a bit of relief while you wait on your appointment.

    Sorry!

Again, keep your advice to yourself. You are unqualified to offer it.

"Talking at cross purposes" is what happens when each of two people involved in a dialogue has misunderstood what the other has said, leading to confusion on both sides.

What happened in this case was much more simple than that. It's called "being wrong".

(And in case there's any misunderstanding here, the person who is wrong is HeidiHeidi.)

Op, without knowing what the skin condition is, nobody here can offer you any proper advice on what creams to use. Speak to your gp and/or pharmacist.

Locum-motion, you can make your point without breaking the boards sitewide rule of "don't be a dick". You've been warned in this forum before, so please rethink your posting style.

Please don't offer 'advice' on prescription medication when you are not qualified to do so.
