    Why?

I am a fan of the star wars films (and games)

not super into them that I know everything or collect the toys.

But I always find time to watch them through out the year

and one thing that really annoys me is why did Obi let himself be killed by Vader?

Surely if he killed vader the movies would of had a completely different out come?

I always thought of it like a Dionysus/Jesus thing. Also a bit of a cop out on ben's behalf...

    Can't tell if serious
    if so
I don't think spoilers is necessary on movies over 30 years old :pac:

Obi-Wan was already dead at that point.

Go to 1:55 and notice the shot where Obi-Wan was struck down, his cloak was standing in thin air. Hence he was a ghost.

I think the point in doing this was to frame Vader's murder and encourage him to kill his father (that is what Obi-Wan and Yoda wanted).

I always felt that he knew he was goosed and it was a battle he couldn't win. Giving himself up to the force before he died like Yoda did and he disappeared for want of a better word before Vader had a chance to kill him.

I have no star wars related reasons to back that up I just thought that it kinda worked.

He saw it as his destiny to die and in doing so cemented Luke's path to becoming a Jedi and redeeming Vader , something he could never do.
