Cartell or Motorcheck..or just a HPI check?

This question may have been asked before but I thought I'd ask again.

I'm looking at buying a UK import that is for sale on a garage forecourt. There is no Irish reg on it yet so I'm assuming it's yet to undergo VRT payment and Irish registration (probably once they have a buyer).

So I'm wondering which would be the better site to get my checks done with, Cartell or Motorcheck? Or should I just get a HPI done on the car?

I've never used any of these services before so just wanted thoughts from those of you who have.

My vote goes to Motorcheck. I think the check data is more detailed then cartell.

As motorcheck/cartell can perform a UK check, they will pull the UK data from either a HPI or Experian.

So in the end I went with Motorcheck And Cartell. The Motor check report was more detailed and therefore better IMO.

However, be warned, I just got email from Motorcheck offering me a Topaz loyalty card with 2c off every litre of fuel. I wasn't aware they would spam me with marketing 'offers' and don't recall seeing an opt out so major minus points there. If there is an opt out, it should be far more upfront and now I'm wondering if they have sold my data to their 'marketing pertner', Topaz?!? Not a happy camper with the spam aspect of their service.

I'm aware some of you would appreciate the offer but for me, I really dislike that and am not sure what's happening my personal data. I'll be contacting Motorcheck to find out.

    I hate this too.

You will find that motorcheck might be sponsored by topaz and in return when customer does a check they offer you a discount so you go and buy fuel from them.

Im sure that when you receive an email from topaz there will be unsubscribe button.
Pain in the a$$ all the same
