On the details tab of the properties for uninstalled device in "device drivers"

I'm talking about information on hardware id's, power data capabilities etc.

    Thanks...

It uses the hardware ID and then looks up stuff in a database. It gets this via plugnplay: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Plug_and_play

Most windows os,es have driver files for 90 percent of the most common, devices that people use in pcs, laptops.

newer devices come with driver files on cd,in the box,
at least for winxp, vista, windows 7,or you can download drivers ,
    from ati.com etc
for devices made after the os was released .
When i plug in an external usb drive ,sometimes my win 7 laptop install, s
    a driver,
Takes about two minutes, theres some text, device being installed,
    the system tray,pops up text,
your device is now ready to use .
