No shortcuts?

Apologies if I'm posting in the wrong place, but...........

I recently changed from Internet Explorer to Mozilla Firefox, as Explorer was constantly crashing/freezing etc. All is well now, except that I don't seem to have the option to create shortcuts, via the "right click" drop down menu option and only have the facility to add a site to my favourites.

I'd prefer to have the ability to create shortcuts, so, am I doing something wrong or is this a normal feature of Firefox?

    Thanks in advance.

What do you mean by shortcuts.

Do you mean having sites on the menu bar. If so you need to activate the bookmarks toolbar and populate it.

    Hi sogood,

Yes this is normal of Firefox. You can drag the favicon on the left end of the location bar onto the desktop to create a shortcut.

You can also use an extension(addon).

    http s:// addons. mozilla. org/firefox/addon/ 14019/
    http s:// addons. mozilla. org/firefox/addon/ 66

Sorry can't post URLs properly as I'm a 'new user', but those will get you sorted.

    Best,
    OTS

That's great thanks. Question answered, but just one more, what the heck is the favicon on the left end of the location bar? Or should that be two questions. Apologies, but I'm a bit of a dinosaur, but thanks again.

The favicon in Firefox is the icon on the tab. To create a shortcut in Firefox, drag the Earth icon beside the address bar and drag it to where you want it to be. With firefox, it's not the favicon as such, but the icon beside the address bar.
