My Father-in-law is moving into our home. Can I avail of his pensioner electricity and tv licence allowances/discounts from the state as it is his place of residence? Do these bills have to put into his name to avail of the discounts or can there be dual signees?
    Thanks

    yes he is

Ok. When you ring your electricity service provider to add his name you will need him on hand to verbally give his consent to have his name added to the account.
Then he can go ahead and complete HBP application form. Tell him not to forget to tick the box for the free TV licence too.
If your not with Elelectric Ireland then the money will be paid either in the PO or into s bank account.

The telephone allowance was abandoned that's all.
