After a lot of research I have decided to purchase one of the following tyre types for my A4

    Vredestein Ultrac Vorti
    245/40R18 97 Y
    XL

    Goodyear Eagle F1 Asymmetric 2
    245/40 R18 97 Y
    V1

The difference in price is small so not really a factor.

Has anybody any experience of either tyre type? Any other recommendations?

    Thanks

When it comes to the Asymettric 2 there is no other tyre at the party, the last few sets i've had have been great for ware, 11/12k plus on 4wd cars.

What are your priorities when it comes to tyres?

Outright grip at the expense of tyre life?

Or are you looking for a tyre that gives balanced all round performance in terms of comfort, grip, fuel economy and longevity?

If you are the latter (which is most people) then I would suggest looking at the Goodyear Efficient Grip Performance rather than the Eagle F1.

I had Michelin Primacy for my A4 120bhp. They were great. Weren't cheap

Have you a budget in mind?

Have em on a 5 series. Fantastic tyres, love the grip and road feedback they give.
Wear: 8mm tread when new. 12k miles later have 4mm rear and 6mm on the fronts. (Have rotated them now)
But you hopefully won't give a toot about the wear, they're that good.
