Hi Just wondering if anyone had come across any good free template sites.

Looking for something like a carnival ticket and while I go do it in photoshop or something I was wondering if it would be easier to use templates

I used the weddingchicks.com website for ours, was very handy. Can't remember all the designs they had off hand but we had one with bunting all across the top.

etsy seems to be the go to place for stuff like this.

You have to pay, but they'll do some of the tinkering for you and there's a huge range.

I do like the Etsy ones I get a little confused though. Like do they send you a PDF that you then edit yourself with details, or do you have to give all the details and they send you on a locked document that you just print off..Anyone out there who have used them I would love to know more

I would imagine you send the details and they send you a locked file.

You download an editable Word file. The design is fixed, but you enter your own text.

Most on etsy are PDFs not Word files

So would they defo be fixed. My worry with them is it you wanted to change one word on it would you have to go buy another template. Or I suppose if you know what you are doing with PDF you can edit anything...

Check on fiverr.com, easy to get things customised and very reasonable prices.

If I need something I just set up a request with details added.

Then a list of people will contact you offering various deals. They will usually supply samples if you ask.

I bought an invite template and all of the ones I looked at were editable word documents. Maybe there was also a PDF of the template, but 100% of them were editable by the buyer.

Different sellers do different things, any of the ones I liked were PDF!
That you sent your details, they filled in the bits and then sent on the file that couldn't be changed, obviously after sending you a proof.

I got our invites on Etsy. They were un-editable but before I got the finished product the seller mailed me a sample. Needed to make a couple of changes before it was right and then I was send a finished PDF file. It was all done in an evening. Definitely would recommend doing invites this way.

ETA should have said mine cost €32. For that we got a template for day & evening invites and for mass booklet cover to match.

Yeah, it must depend. This is the seller I used: https://www.etsy.com/ca/shop/Oxee?ref=l2-shopheader-name

It cost about E5, and we got a blank template that can be used for invitations, extra information cards, RSVPs or whatever else you'd like.

Everything there is editable, if it's any use to anyone.

Tried this fiiver place but I am not too sure.. I got in contact with one guy who said he would do something for $10 so I was like grand.. Asked what happens if it isn't what we wanted he says you choose to purchase or not. So gave him the go ahead and he said to place the order. That's where he lost me, I asked him what do I do and he said he didn't understand me. So not sure now is he doing anything or not.. All a bit odd. handy though if it did work as they have a discount with vistaprint

    .

http://www.libreoffice.org will edit the text of PDF invites

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 763 ✭✭✭Pistachios & cream

Mildly it sounds like he hadn't a clue. What kind of invites are you looking for? Can you link to some that are similar to what you like?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 8,658 ✭✭✭Milly33

Thanks for those links gctest50 might come in very handy. I have adobe alright I love this..

Me thinks so ahayes, I didn't want to be rude and cancel the account if he is actually doing something. So I might see I will keep the account open for the week and if I head no more than that's it...

The invites are kind of a miss max of things. Think I am going to do a sketch out or something and work like that. Back to doing an art project in school where you have your drawing board..

Well we didn't have much look in the end with any of the sites but yeeppe we did get them sorted. Ended up downloading a few things and then working with photoshop to do it all up...
