I am making a toy box and am finding it difficult locating Soft Close hinges and some sort of a Lid Stay for it, to protect little fingers.

I have checked out my local hardware shops and Woodies but they only have hinges for kitchen cabinets.

Does anyone know where I could buy these particular hinges please?

    Thanks in advance.

Why not put a strut on it similar to the kitchen presses that open up?

I think these were 5 euro the last time I was in a kitchen suppliers. I'm sure the likes of B&Q would have one too.

if the lid is heavy this would probably be best, although make sure your not creating another risk for trapped fingers....

Thank you, day out to B&Q I think will help solve my problem.
I will check out these particular struts too.

I made a toy box years ago for the twins. I used the gas struts and they worked great. The only thing I changed them after 3 or 4 years the lid was starting to slip so for 12 euros I just changed them. Plus I only had a inch at the corners touching the lid and everywhere else wasnt touching so there was only a small chance of catching there fingers if the struts failed.
