    Hi all,

My OH and I are a year married in February, and we would like to go away for a night to celebrate. It would be the first night away for our newborn son so would ideally like somewhere quiet with a good, baby-friendly restaurant, within an hour or so of Galway city.

Can anyone recommend anywhere, thanks in advance for your replies!

We found the Ardiluan in Galway very child friendly when we were there. Staff were very helpful and its a nice quiet hotel. Lovely pool too with a small wading pool for babies.

Never stayed the night, but eat there fairly regularly - the Twelve in Barna. They are great with kids, and you can tell by the amount of families with kids of all ages frequenting the place. Food is very nice, too, and not crazy expensive.

Only drawback is that they dont have a pool if you're looking for that.

Further out west you have the Connemara Coast, which has a nice pool that is usually empty, havent brought the kids for dinner there yet though ;)

Maybe Delphi? They've nice rooms with a mezzanine too so would be perfect if baby is sleeping and he want to have a drink and just relax or whatever.

We took off to the Armada in Spanish Point when the small fella was 4 weeks old and I have to say, they were absolutely fantastic. And the food in the restaurant is amazing, although we ordered it as room service because we were too lazy to go down for it :) We brought our own travel cot and milton cold water steriliser and sterilising tabs for sterilising (no need for rinsing). It was a shock to see just how much stuff we had to bring for the baby but we really enjoyed getting away.
