Carers, the dole and dependent children

    Quick question, we have just been approved for carers for 1 of our kids (wife is claiming this),our application for another of our kids is in at the moment, can we claim for dependent children as well on this application.

    Also, I'm out of a jjob in 5 weeks, hopefully for not to long but while I'm claiming job seekers, can I claim for the dependents as well.

    You can claim for her yes, and she will then get reduced carer allowance (half rate).

    She cannot claim for you on her payment, so you are better to claim for her and, let her get half rate carers.
