Flights to Vietnam

Hey all. I am travelling to or hoping to travel to do Vietnam and Cambodia and the cheapest flights I've got flying into Hanoi and back via Bangkok is with Emirates fpr 860. Just enquiring with people if this is the best we can do or are there better prices to be got be it booking during a different period or with someone else? Any advice much appreciated.

Flight to bkk which is about 550 and u can fly to Vietnam for about €30 from there..
Go thru Vietnam and Cambodia by road breaking up travel along the way as this is beautiful and cheap as well.

I was in SE Asia before Xmas. I got return flight to Bangkok with Emirates for approx €600 return.

Flew to Siem Reap from Bangkok. Air Asia fly there for very cheap. Then go north to south in Cambodia by bus (Ibis or Mekong Express are best companies).

Travel by bus from Phnom Penh to Saigon and then travel all the way north to Hanoi and fly back to Bangkok from there.

Should work out cheaper than the price quoted to you anyway. My 2c at least!

I flew into Cambodia and out of Hanoi Vietnam a month later, the flights cost less than 700 euro.
I booked through trailfinders, tried doing it myself but for the long flights they were the best.
All local travel over there, we just booked as we went along, flights with air Asia the day before flying etc.

I did fly with Malaysian airways, through Heathrow and Kuala Lumpur, dunno if that bothers you, didn't bother me. Went after the plane went missing and before the second one crashed in Ukraine. I even said when we were flying over Ukraine that it was a strange flight path!

We looked into what you said bubbly and it does Indeed work out much cheaper.

Plan now is to fly dublin to bangkok then onto siem reap. Do our Cambodia travels and end up in ho chi min and kick off Thailand. Then fly back to Bangkok from Hanoi.
All those flights are costing 660 euro so thanks very much.

Anyone any advice on doin Cambodia? What not to waste time on? What's a must do? How much the few days in Cambodia would cost?

I didn't spend much time in Cambodia, mostly Vietnam. When I go back( I definitely will) I will spend longer. The people were just lovely, nicer than the Vietnamese IMO. I'm sorry I didn't see more.
Did the temples etc around siam reap, the killing fields is extremely sad, but its kinda a must.
Was sorry we didn't go to the coast, I've heard great things about it and will definitely go for few days the next time.
