Stained teeth - veneers or bleaching?

I have had intrinsic staining (permanent) on my 2 front teeth since around age 12/13. My dentist during that time said it was moderate flourosis stains. I think being sick and taking antibiotics at the time might have been a factor, my teeth before this were perfectly white. He said that I could try porcelain veneers at age 18. I never got around to it and have decided now I want to get it sorted.

I'm looking into veneers but not sure about the idea of some enamel being removed :s I'm also wondering would anyone know if deep bleaching would work?

If anyone has any advice or experience I'd really appreciate it! Thanks :)

It depends on the severity of the discolouration which I cannot comment on. However in general you can try bleaching first. In a lot of cases the bleaching will reduce the appearance of the staining, and often this is enough for the patient. It is conservative and requires no tooth preparation. If you try that and are still not happy you can consider veneers or crowns (again depends on the severity of the discolouration).

Thanks for the reply :) I will look into the bleaching, it seems a better option to try before looking into veneers. Would you know or recommend a good place that does bleaching? Thanks again!
