Question about connecting flights and seat choice!

Does anyone know of any websites where you can book a flight which will require at least 1 stopover but which allows you to pick your own seat, like an extra legroom one by the emergency exit, or is that option only available if you book direct with airline website?

Here is my dilemma: Im going to Brazil in April and after scouring around all the websites for a good deal, I found a great one with 1 stop for 500euros. Thing is, I want a comfy seat for the second (and longest, 11 hours) leg of the journey but I cant seem to get that option. Im not willing to be crammed into some random torture seat for that amount of time so I was thinking of booking the 2 flights separately i.e book a flight from Dub to London and then when I arrive head to my second flight booked through the airline and fly in comfort. Now obviously thats risky as the 1st flight could be delayed but unless theres a way to book that allows seat picking I cant see any way around it other than: Get early morning flight to London to give myself lots of time for second flight...

Depending on the airline you can buy an exit / bulkhead seat online.

Most airlines charge more for these seats on a long haul flight.

Yes, I would have no problem paying for this as it would be worth it but do you know is there a specific website which is known for this because I have tried gotogate and skyscanner and they give me no option with regards seating?
