No competition...Mignolet wins....(its letting goals in yeah?)

    ...Dea Gea anyday btw

De Gea would win in a fight.

    Better at what?

    General Goalkeeper

Hoe Hart is better at ridding himself of disgusting dandruff.

De Gea is better at growing a neck beard.

Joe Hart is a more complete goalkeeper

De Gea is afraid of the high ball, physically weak and unable to command his defence.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,336 ✭✭✭Blue giant

Is this a serious question? It's not even close. De Gea is on another level to Hart.

    Haha. Love it!

Hart is an average enough top level keeper.

    De Gea is easily superior.

Joe Hart is the best worst goalkeeper ever IMO. Second place goes to Fabien Barthez.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 14,329 ✭✭✭✭Cienciano

Do a poll. De Gea is better by a long way, Hart has his good games but is at fault for an amazing amount of goals.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 21,625 ✭✭✭✭Johner

Hart is a very good keeper but De Gea is younger and better at almost everything.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 6,333 ✭✭✭bad2dabone

    De gea.

He's also improving, hart has plateaued

If you think Hart is better you're just wrong

I thought Hart was quite good when he got back into City's team last season. Back to normal this season though.

De Gea has been the best keeper in the league the last 3 seasons.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 10,785 ✭✭✭✭Paul Tergat

De Gea is the obvious answer here.

Not been best in the league for the last 3 seasons though ^^^

Have we transported back in time to 2012? Why didn't anybody tell me! I could have bet on stuff!

Gareth Bale is an average enough left back, needs to leave Spurs for a club that might give him a few games further up the pitch imo.

I voted for Joe Hart by mistake. De Gea is far far better.

Guess who hasn't dropped one ball this season? It wasn't Hart.

De Gea and it's really not close.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 4,660 ✭✭✭COYVB

It's not even close, De Gea by an absolute mile

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 6,594 ✭✭✭jaykay74

I don't see Madrid chasing Hart or anyone else linked to him either

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,736 ✭✭✭OctavarIan

Two years ago they were closer but De Gea has since far surpassed Hart.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 4,661 ✭✭✭Fuhrer

Hart hit his peak a few years back, De Gea is better then him now and is getting better all the time.

Look at his stats for last year(When he was also better than Hart) compared to this year in regards to the amount of times he catches the ball rather than punches it.

De Gea vs Courtois would be worthy of debate.

    This just isn't.

Joe Hart is a standard PL goalkeeper. He's still overrated by the English press.

Brad Guzan is better than Joe Hart

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 16,890 ✭✭✭✭Nalz

De Gea is the second best keeper in the PL

Hart is not even in the top 5

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 53,262 ✭✭✭✭GavRedKing

    Option C, Courtois

But for this debate its de gea IMO, younger, better and doesnt make stupid charges out no more like he did in seasons gone by that leave him horribly exposed.

Hes well used the EPL now so doesnt make as many mistakes and commands his defence and box a lot better.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 7,688 ✭✭✭Nailz

Hart isn't even the best English goalkeeper in the league, Forster is better. But yeah, De Gea is in the top 3 goalkeepers in the world, up there with Courtois and Neuer, not quite as good but getting there on Neuer IMO.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,519 ✭✭✭Take Your Pants Off

De Gea better then Lloris ?
I think De Gea is in top 4.
I cannot put him in top 3, just because of 1 good season.

I think he's better than loris, definitely. Lloris has Shay Given syndrome that he never comes for highballs more than 4 yards out from goal, for a lad of his frame that's a poor trait.
I cannot put him in top 3, just because of 1 good season.

That's good because he's had 3 good seasons.

De Gea is on a different level but I think Hart gets too much unwarranted abuse. If he wasn't English people would be saying what a great keeper he is.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 33,761 ✭✭✭✭RobertKK

De Gea is way better than Hart, also has a better scalp and doesn't need head and shoulders to treat his hair while playing a game.

Last season Hart was dropped for a period while he got his head in order.

Most one-sided poll in a long while ha.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 4,258 ✭✭✭chicorytip

Hart has the greater natural ability of the two but always appears over-anxious leading him to make silly mistakes.Needs a few sessions with a good psychologist !

If Hart wasn't English he wouldn't even be worthy of mention against top class keepers

I think the opposite myself, because he is English every mistake he makes is magnified.

Is this in the same way Joe Allen has more natural ability than Iniesta? Because that's bonkers in fairness.

    QFT

I think this is a silly thread and really if we are talking this season then De Gea wins but if you take their best two best and worst seasons then it would be very close imo.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,211 ✭✭✭Owen_S

To be fair, you can't blame Joe Hart for the media's inflation of his ability. He's a young (in GK terms) English goalkeeper, a position where they have been lacking quality for a long time. Even Jack Butland was getting a lot of attention in the media!. His ability has never really matched the reputation, drops an awful lot of clangers which De Gea would be slaughtered for.

But y'see the fing tha' lets the Spanish lad dahn is tha' 'e asn't got that British bulldog spiri' which Joe 'art 'as. Arty would be royht in the fick of fings when the pressure's on an' it's a wet and windy nyt in Stoke, but the Spanish lad he'd be finkin' all abaht 'is warm wevva back 'ome and he'd jus' end up letting ya dahhhnnnn.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,063 ✭✭✭UrbanFret

De gea obviously seems to make more saves but that's because of the rubbish that plays in front of him. Neither of them are great at coming off their line to either punch or catch crosses. De gea will never reach the very top because of his size which in no way is the 6 4" attributed to him. made for spain where only a few teams carry a big aerial threat.

One of the 13 hit Hart by accident.....I'm confused by other 12
