Tax deductions on Nixers for Plumber

    Hi just looking for bit advice .I work full time with company and I do a good few jobs as Nixers on weekends and evenings and use my van in doing so can I claim the tax and insurance and running costs of van as tax deductions ? Only really use van for nixers

    So you're fully declaring the income that comes from the nixers? Because usually the term 'nixer' refers to cash under the counter sort of stuff.

    Who owns the van?

    Yes I am giving receipts and making a tax return at end of year
    I own the van which i use for the work

    No I am not robbing him any fool could do that !!!
    My own van and clients supplying material easier for me to keep my books and not have to register for vat
    So any answer for my question ?

    Well you can you register as a self employed person and pay tax.

    I am registered as a sole trader at the minute and I am not registered for vat my turnover is not big enuff to make it worth while
    Just looking for a bit advice on whats tax deductable before I send my accounts in accountant at end year for returns
