Could dampness in a car door makem the motor for the window stop working.

Window well go down but not up. Had to get a garage in put the window back up for me today. They said water was collecting in the door and made the motor damp.

    Is an Astra 07

Water collecting wouldn't cause the problem but would be a symptom of a leaking window seal which might. Dampness caused by leaky window seals dripping onto the electrics could indeed cause the problem.

They said they would need to take it out and dry the motor to. See if that fixes it. May do that myself

Doors are designed to allow for water ingress, check the drain holes at the bottom are not blocked.
