Sony Z1 muffled when speaking on phone

Very frustrating when on the phone, nobody can hear me or I sound very muffled. Virtually impossible to have a conversation on the phone. I can hear the other person perfectly When I go to loudspeaker they can hear me perfectly but I cant hear them short of smashing the phone of the wall, any suggestions?

Anything blocking the grill on bottom of phone? That has both the main microphone and speaker behind it which would explain both your issues.
