    *not looking for medical advice/treatment*

Hi all. I am a runner, and have been having knee pain for about 18 months. Sharp pains around the kneecap, often a burning sensation almost, and a feeling of weakness in knees. Started in left knee but now affects both knees. Pain doesn't just come when running, I seem to have it whether I am active or not, even if I am moving around or simply sitting down.
Have been to about a dozen physios and a knee consultant as well, and the diagnosis was patellar femoral syndrome - have done all the strengthening and stretching I have been given, but to no avail. I am now looking for a recommendation - basically a good physio or the likes in Dublin or near Dublin who is an expert on or specialises in Knees.

Any runners out there know of anyone, or have had an issue like this that was resolved by a physio?

    Aidan Woods (stupid auto-correct).

Yeah, I've been to him myself and a couple of his team.

He's a runner himself and a few high profile runners go to him as well.

Thanks Alf. Will look up Aidan Woods. He seems to be well thought of.

I've just been to so many physios I am almost wondering if they are all the same as none have been able to get rid of this for me, let alone tell me why I have this pain

    I know that feeling.

My wife went to him years ago after 20+ sessions with another physio after a car crash and he said if he couldn't improve it significantly in 4 visits, it couldn't be fixed through physiotherapy.

He improved matters hugely in 3 visits. That's why I went to hin when I needed physio and can only say good things about him and his team.

Sounds good Alf. It's hard not to get cynical about physios alright!

    I will look him up
