Say for example for aftershave and the ml isn't written on the sticker, what happens there? I'm taking about a long flight also if that makes any difference

Its black and white. Short hop or longhaul journey, doesn't matter.
Nothing over 100ml....the security staff will tell you if is allowed or not. No discussion allowed.

And you won't get the benefit of the doubt if the container has no capacity stamped in it. If it's a long haul flight then I suggest you pack anything that might be confiscated in your check-in bag. It also doesn't matter how much is in the container, it's the capacity that matters so if you have a half-full 150ml container, that will be confiscated. As Tenger said, it's black and white, no discussions.

OP didn't ask this question, the OP asked if it's not displayed in ml will it be acceptable! I've brought aftershave with no ml displayed on it before with no issues (always 100ml bottle). You might be unlucky and get it confiscated but you should be fine. Also if it's a long haul flight is there no checked baggage at all?

My meaning was that they will know if it is 100ml or over, they see these items 100's of times per day. If they are unsure they will confiscate.
I am probably misinterpreting the OP but I got the impression that the idea was that with no label they cannot confiscate. My issue.

And flight length has no relevance on security protocols.

They can judge a containers size with their eyes closed. They'll know instantly if is over or under the 100 ml size. They won't need a sticker telling them. The length of your flight is irrelevant. It's an airport security check, not an airline one. They don't really care where you are going.

There are very few Perfumes over 100ml, haven't seen any anyway.

    I'd say you'll be fine.

That wasn't my experience last time I flew through Dublin. I made the mistake of not hanging on to the last bit of toothpaste in an old tube in the weeks before travelling on a weekend trip to London so ended up with a new (full) tube of Colgate in my clear plastic bag. The security guy took it out and was looking at it with a suspicious air about him, I had to politely point where it said '100ml' in the corner of the label before he gave it back to me.

I wouldn't rely on security people being experts able to make a decision on the spot, it's far too easy to say 'no'. Also bear in mind that they get checked by would-be travellers carrying contraband so they're always on their guard and will usually err on the side of caution i.e. you can't bring it on board unless they're 100% certain that it complies with the regulations.

Not quite black and white either, I've been let off with larger liquids I've forgotten to put in the checked luggage and told ah sure remember to check it in next time. Has happened more than once too
