Do women really have rape fantasys and a want to be controlled hence they read the book cause modern women need to be seen as independent but it's not what they really want?

I picked it up in the library cause I wanted to see what the fuss was about but I couldn't get past the first chapter as the prose was so turgid.

But it's a massive seller and very popular with the average woman, so while you might not like rape fantasy (I don't understand why anyone would) a huge amount of women do.

Is it cause of the role changes in the last few decades and not wanting to admit they want a man to be in charge in the relationship but now can't.

You have to admit women on anti depressants jumped hugely in this time also and now these extreme rape domination books are best sellers with women trying to get an extreme fantasy version of what they really want a strong man in control
