they were reduced on amazon recently but i missed that offer

hoping for some nice winfgs and chips for supper tonight, any tips on using this would be great

Bought this at 149 before, so good price there now. Great piece of kit. Cooks much quicker than I expected. Would highly recommend.

Tesco direct using parcel motel is €88 if it's your first time order from tesco direct using a code giving you £10 off.

Got one of these before christmas. It's grand.

i did a basket of chips and there was enough for 3 people
its a tidy size compared to the tefal one, its more upright
much better than a regular fryer, no lingering oil smell after, this combined with my family size george foreman, im sorted

The basket holds loads of chips even though it seems small, I got one on Amazon last year and I really love it!!!

I'm reading conflicting articles on this but can you use no oil at all with the air fryer or just a small amount?

No oil with the exception of stuff like making chips from freshly peeled spuds but it's only like a coating.

Are you sure it was the Phillips? The Actifry had a habit of catching fire allright but not the Phillips one AFAIK.

Aldi skinny oven chips (99c a bag) are great in these. As is chicken with a little olive oil and some BBQ rub. Nom nom.

Maybe it could be the actifry. Will check with her and verify.

You can cook pretty much anything in it. Brilliant for chicken wings, home made chips, etc.

I cooked a whole chicken in it once. Took about 45 minutes (compared to about 1.5 hours incl. warm up time in a conventional fan oven)

Chipper chips recipe: skin and cut potato into thick chips. Parboil for 5 minutes. Let cool and pat dry. Put in bowl and mix with 2 tablespoons of sunflower oil. Cook in airfryer at 180C for about 15-20 minutes or until done. Enjoy :)

does the par boil make a big difference ?
and also what did you put the chicken into a foil container or something

how long does it take to cook basket of chips? I've been put off this and the tefal because they are small but if it doesn't take that long then it might still be an option...

for decent size chips the cook book says
    soak for 30 minutes
    pat dry
    tablespoon of oil
cook on 160 for 18 minutes
    shake
raise temp to 180 for 12 minutes, giving a shake halfway through

when i read this i thought it was a lot of messing but compared to frozen chips its well worth the effort and cheaper in the long run
i had a deep fat fryer years ago and hated the lingering smell
i wanted one for a while but the price was the killer

ditto - but there's 6 of us to feed and these yokes don't have the capacity for one batch cooking it looks like.

I like the idea of these devices but the size and space you need puts me off, I don't have a tiny kitchen or anything but no idea where you end up putting it without having to leave it sitting out.

put it in a cupboard if you don't want it sitting out, or get a pretty tea towel to cover it
we have a 3 month old so we have stuff sitting out all over the place now lol
it kind of blends in in the corner of our breakfast bar

wouldn't suit a family of six if you want to eat together, even a regular deep fat fryer would be a struggle i imagine
could always have 2 sittings for chips

Do you have to take the basket out and shake it for everything you cook in this? I know you do for chips but how about say chicken or something like that?
