Communication Breakdown between the DSP and Revenue

I started a Community Employment Scheme in the middle of December, I was told by the coordinator to take a letter with information about my scheme to the Revenue office in Galway which I also understand functions as part of the DSP too, as far as I was concerned I thought the DSP was aware that I was on a CE scheme. When I came back to Ireland from Scotland from the festive break I found a letter from the DSP at Hynes building stating that I was receiving a pension from the place I'm working at, I'm 49 years old so I definitely haven't retired as yet, so why does the Revenue think I'm receiving a pension when I'm clearly on a CE scheme.

The letter is dated 19th December, I was in Galway up to the 22nd and saw no letter, but when I came back yesterday the letter was waiting, yet I only have 14 days to send this back in, which is well by the period now, requiring notification from my employer and payslips from when I started. What I DON'T get is the DSP are working alongside revenue, why doesn't revenue just bloody say I'm on CE to the DSP instead of me wasting an hour of my work experience having to take this completed letter back to Hynes building. There is clearly a communication breakdown here, why this unnecessary nonsense?

If you want to get into it, you got to get out of it. (Hawkwind 1982)

It won't comfort you but a lot of CE scheme people got exactly the same letter as you. There is obviously a breakdown in communications but best thing is just bite the bullet and supply what is requested.

I also got one of these dated the 19th but didn't receive it until after Christmas. The payment was back pay from bank holidays while I was on the TÚS programme. It only amounted to €40 but the letters are generated automatically (I think because surely they should have known seeing as how TÚS are part of their own office). Went straight in because it was after the 2 week time frame. Just went in with it and explained that it was a TÚS payment so I shouldn't be penalised for it. They had suspended my payment but reactivated it straight away as it was their fault. Best to go in and talk to someone before they cut you off because they seem to like doing that to people
