Hair not holding colour

I've longish hair (past my bra strap) and its in pretty good condition but there seems to be a stripe on one side, about level with my ear where it doesn't seem to hold colour. My original colour would be dark brown with a good bit of grey through it and its dyed a similar colour. For the last few times its been coloured, once its washed at home i can see this paler stripe. My hairdresser is perplexed by this and other than changing the brand of colour is unsure what to try? I only wash my hair about twice per week and the only time it ever sees a hairdryer or straightener is in the hairdressers every 6-8 weeks. Has anyone any ideas of what i can try?

I used to have bright red hair. Since I died it back brown it does not hold colour. I recommend Revlon Colourbomb between - it's a conditioner that makes you hair super soft and also deposits colour without the use of damaging peroxide. You won't have to dye your hair as often.

When you get your hair coloured, do you get a root touch up or full colour?
It sounds over processed and your hair won't take the colour anymore. It can get really patchy if you continue.
If you're doing just a touch up then I'm not sure.
Ask another stylist for an opinion.

No, I normally only get the roots done. Only get the rest once in a blue moon! Had full colour in September, previous to that it was before Christmas 2013

Op the hair here is damaged so its not going to retain colour at all the best thing to do is either cut it off or else you could try using colour depositing shampoos and conditioners and see if they have any effect.

Not really an option to cut it off. my hair is half way down my back and i'd more or less have to crop it!

Where can i get Revlon colourbomb?

    In any salon services shop.

Colourbombs are fantastic! They make your hair feel super silky, they only take a few min to put in so can be done in the shower but only they last about 3 washes before fading out. jeans hair colour is another option, you leave it in for about 30 min and it lasts longer but it doesn't have the silky feel...
