    Here is a list of the benefits to not working, going to jail etc which I'm having a small rant over, feel free to add any

    In jail ;

    Free accommodation

    Free food with a choice

    Free tv and entertainment

    Possibility to further education to a getting a degree

    Free use of high standard gym equipment

    Free dental and health care

    Paid money on leave

    Must be housed when released

    If enough time built up behind bars, entitled to back to work, education and enterprise schemes which is essentially the majority of their dole paid on top of their dole plus extras for a number of years

    Not working ;

    Free money

    Rent allowance allowing them to live in the same type houses as hard workers indefinitely

    If they feel like not paying rent, could take up to a couple of years to get them evicted, then move on to the next property

    Entitled to state housing similar if not same as private paid accommodation when eventually housed

    Cheap gym fees ( funnily this one really gets my back up ) , if I want to join a gym as a worker must pay full and sometimes expensive prices and because of work can't go until late in the evening if I'm lucky where ' dolies ' can swan in and out more freely

    Get to stay in bed in the morning, I get up at 5-5.30

    And before anyone starts about dole bashing or whatever I do think a safety net is needed but the whole system is so messed up ... I'm really beginning to think who's the fool here.

    Fine, quit your job or commit a crime. Problem solved. Both yours and ours.

    Well who's stopping you leaving your job and going to prison?

    Go ahead if it's so great.

    A few down by me, yes.

    I don't think any of those things you listed are necessarily a problem. I think the problem is that you see prison as better than living freely.

    You are giving up the ability to move where you want, get married, have kids, etc.

    Sure death is a great alternative too. Don't have to pay taxes then.

    MOD: Ranting & Raving forum is the place for you. Or a blog. Or Facebook. Not After Hours, though.
