Well we are building a new kitchen and are looking at different floor surfaces. We really dont want tiles unless it is something very special but are looking at stone carpets. We are wondering if there are any different or new types of floor coverings as they just have to be slip resistant and child friendly.

They look very nice and we might call into their retailer in Kilkenny next week for a look and thanks for the info

That is the company we are going to look at as the Kilkenny branch is handier for us

We went for wood look tiles in the kitchen - we thought over a few options but came back to issues over water, such as flooding.

    Otherwise polished concrete?

I wanted Terrazzo or Resicrete but back in the boom the guys who were doing it wouldn't touch a single house, whole estates or Commercial/Industrial were all they were interested in. Maybe next time.

Why don't you go for engineered wood, it's handy in kitchen where water might be an issue.
