1st salmon of 2015

    Does any one know if and where the first salmon of the year was caught? As far as I know the drowes hasnt had A catch yet.

    As of this morning the IFI reports none yet.

    Still no fish anyway hope its not a sign of things to come for the year ,all I'm hearing about is salmon stocks falling and my fishing prices going up ha

    Roll on the 17th ,can't wait for a cast

    first of 2014 was off the Drowes on the 8th of Jan.....still nothing from the Drowes so far in 2015.

    I still haven't seen any reports of a Salmon. Anybody hear anything?

    heard of one landed in Killarney, but it seemingly was not a fresh fish....

    it's taking a while to get the first one and we're 19 days in .

    the mighty blackwater might have a say in this yet :) im going to currane next saturday but just looking to wet a line more than anything but ya never know :eek:

    hope it dont set the trend for the year

    The Laune confirmed by IFI
    "The salmon weighed in at 10lb. The fish was confirmed by IFI staff who were in the area as being clean, having run the river in the last couple of weeks."

    lads there is no way that is a fresh fish ifi dont have a clue , look at how soft the belly is and even the colour on its gills

    its a baggot and anyone who knows any bit at all about salmon will agree

    with ifi saying it is a springer people will go along with it but for me and a lot of other anglers the fish should have been returned , hope this link works

    U couldn't get any fresher than the first one lol

    About it being a farmed fish and not wild , the scales are being sent away for examination
