1st salmon of 2015

Does any one know if and where the first salmon of the year was caught? As far as I know the drowes hasnt had A catch yet.

As of this morning the IFI reports none yet.

Still no fish anyway hope its not a sign of things to come for the year ,all I'm hearing about is salmon stocks falling and my fishing prices going up ha

Roll on the 17th ,can't wait for a cast

Still nothing as of this afternoon. I think it took a while at the start of 2014 as well.

first of 2014 was off the Drowes on the 8th of Jan.....still nothing from the Drowes so far in 2015.

heard of one landed in Killarney, but it seemingly was not a fresh fish....

it's taking a while to get the first one and we're 19 days in .

Nothing down here on the Drowes.....water levels still extremely high.

the mighty blackwater might have a say in this yet im going to currane next saturday but just looking to wet a line more than anything but ya never know :eek:

hope it dont set the trend for the year

lads there is no way that is a fresh fish ifi dont have a clue , look at how soft the belly is and even the colour on its gills

its a baggot and anyone who knows any bit at all about salmon will agree

with ifi saying it is a springer people will go along with it but for me and a lot of other anglers the fish should have been returned , hope this link works

Two more fish caught since the one above 1 on lough leane and the other on the flesk weighing about 10lbs and &.5lbs

About it being a farmed fish and not wild , the scales are being sent away for examination
